Are we simply being nostalgic, or is there something fundamental that we do not want to lose as a result of the name change? If so, what are some new spaces and places where we can be part of realising our learners’ dreams and aspirations? Teaching and learning more than foundation skills Workshop 5.30-6.30, Thursday, 28th June 2018 Room Cb10.5.580, Building 10, UTS, Jones St, Ultimo In this workshop, participants will consider both the imperative for, and possibilities of, teaching more than ‘foundation skills’ to our adult literacy and numeracy learners. Workshop facilitators Pam Osmond, Janet Dyne and Keiko Yasukawa will present some stimulus ideas for rich educational experiences which, where necessary, can be ‘reverse engineered’ to match training package/ curriculum outcomes. Working from these ideas, participants will work together to outline teaching and learning ideas and activities that address skills and knowledge that matter for their adult learners.
